Samantha Michelle, a 15-year-old Senior Three pioneer student at African Buddhist High School, is a shining example of resilience and determination in the face of challenges.
Samantha began her education at Entebbe Modern Primary School at the age of three, where she studied up to Primary Three. She later joined Wonder World Junior School in Busabala. However, her studies were interrupted when schools across the country closed during the COVID-19 lockdown, forcing her to stay home for two years.
Despite this setback, Samantha resumed her education with courage, joining Primary Five after the lockdown. She later transferred to Stepping Stone Academy in Bukoto, Kampala, where she adapted quickly, made new friends, and worked hard toward her academic goals.
Her dedication paid off when she sat for her Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) in 2023 and achieved a first grade. After briefly studying at Entebbe Secondary School, she joined African Buddhist High School, where she continues to thrive.
Speaking about her current school, Samantha praised the supportive environment, caring teachers, and friendly students, which have made her learning experience both enjoyable and meaningful.
“I am proud to be a student of African Buddhist High School,” she said.
